How the tag is read and the device requirements of the mobile device
In the Android app, reading the tag is simple. Open the Spotilla app and log in if you have not logged in before. Reading is done from the "Home" tab, which opens first when you open the app.
When the NFC feature of your device is on, you can read the tag by moving your phone close to the tag (the point on the phone where the NFC antenna is located).
On different phone models, the NFC antenna is located at a slightly different location on the phone; on some models even on the front of the phone.
Spotilla Android app requires a mobile device with the Android operating system to work. The mobile app works independently of the manufacturer, meaning the brand of the Android device doesn’t matter. To ensure the functionality of the application, the software version of the Android operating system of the device must be at least "4.1 JellyBean API v.16" or later. Instructions for checking the software version of your Android device can be found, for example, on Google (Android Developer) here
If you plan to use the Spotilla mobile app to read tags with NFC, your phone must have NFC functionality and it must be turned on. If you do not know how to turn on the NFC function on your device, check the instructions for that device.
You may also use QR-code reader to read tags. Press "Read QR-code" on home page and read the QR code of the tag.
Spotilla iOS app requires an iOS device with at least iOS 11 to work.
iPhone 5S, 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, SE, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone SE, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max
Spotilla's NFC capabilities work on the following iOS devices:
iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone SE, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max
To read a tag, you also need an application for reading the tag. There are several alternatives to these in the App Store. For example, search for NFC Reader. On the latest models, this is pre-installed and the reader is automatically turned on.
When your phone has such an application, you can press the screen and read the tag by moving the phone close to the NFC tag. The phone has an NFC antenna at a certain point where the tag is read. For example, on iPhone 7, the antenna is located at the top of the back of the phone. Reading the tag will take you to the Spot Details view.
